How to use Chrysler BYPASS 12+8 cable on a 2018+ Chrysler with Scan tool​

On or after 2018 Chrysler vehicles, it has install the security gateway module. In order to clear codes, active test, bi-directional control special functions, the better solution is to bypass the module by using 8+12 cable. But you might need to pull a radio or just using another kind to find ecu and chassis ecm to plug 8+12 cable to go around Chrysler auto off program. This is a legitimate way around it.​

Connect Chrysler with Bypass 12+cable procedure

1. Locate the security gateway modele which is installed below the dashboard

2) Remove the connector of the security gateway module

​

3) Connect Chrysler 8+12 connector

​

***The security gateway module is often located in the side kick panel, passenger side near the glove box, or behindthe radio

4. Using scan tools to diagnose

5) Coverage:

2018 and newer Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Fiat now have a secure gateway module or SGM. ThisSGM will not allow your scan tool to do bidirectional controls on the vehicle. Chrysler 12+8 Adapter canbypass the SGM.​
